Metal Mesh Belt Selection Guide for Thick Film Heating Furnaces

The metal mesh belt, a key component of thick film heating furnaces (thick film sintering furnaces), is selected primarily based on five parameters: Structure, Wire Diameter, Pitch, Material, and Belt Width. 1. Structure Selection

• Type A2 Structure
  Features a bidirectional S-wrap with straight through wires, resulting in a dense mesh pattern. Wire diameter ranges from 1.0–3.5 mm.
  Characteristics: Air permeability rate of 38–45% per unit area, high self-weight, flat edges resistant to warping.
  Applications: Ideal for thin substrates below 0.3 mm or fragile LTCC green bodies, effectively preventing airflow marks.

• Type F2 Structure
  Utilizes a bidirectional S-wrap with thick straight through rods, creating a more open mesh. Wire diameter ranges from 2.0–5.0 mm.
  Characteristics: Approximately 30% higher weight-to-length ratio than Type A2, superior transverse rigidity, load capacity ≥ 2 kg/dm².
  Advantage: Edges treated with hooks or welding offer a service life approximately 1.8 times that of Type A2.

2. Typical Wire Diameter & Pitch Combinations (Unit: mm)

Selection Tip: Larger wire diameters and pitches increase load capacity but correspondingly decrease the air permeability rate.

3. Common Material Properties Comparison

• 310S (0Cr25Ni20)
  Operating Temperature: 950–1050 °C
  Characteristics: Offers the best cost-performance ratio, the primary choice for standard sintering.

• Inconel 601
  Operating Temperature: ≤ 1100 °C
  Characteristics: Excellent resistance to carburization and creep, suitable for high-power sintering zones.

• SUS 314
  Operating Temperature: Between 310S and 601
  Characteristics: Slightly better corrosion resistance than 310S, with moderate cost.

4. Standard Belt Widths

Common belt widths include: 200 mm, 300 mm, 350 mm, and 450 mm.
