Metal Mesh Belts for Continuous Heat Treatment Furnaces

Time:2026-10-16View:310

For continuous heat treatment furnaces, selecting the right metal mesh conveyor belt directly impacts process stability, part quality, running cost and belt service life. Different heat treatment workflows — annealing, tempering, quenching, carburizing, sintering and bright hardening — require dedicated mesh belt styles to match temperature ranges, atmosphere conditions, workpiece weight and product geometry.

Balanced Weave Mesh Belt (Balanced Spiral Belt)

This is the most widely used mesh belt for continuous heat treatment lines. It is constructed with alternating left-hand and right-hand wire spirals locked by cross rods.

  • Advantages: Stable tracking, good flexibility, high open area for uniform heat transfer and protective gas circulation.

  • Application: General annealing, tempering, bright heat treatment, small & medium hardware parts.

  • Material options: 310S, 314 stainless steel, Inconel alloys for high-temperature environments up to 1150°C.

Compound Balanced Weave Belt

A denser variant of balanced weave with tighter mesh openings.

  • Advantages: Flat surface, prevents tiny fasteners or thin components from falling through gaps.

  • Application: Small screws, springs, precision stamping parts in continuous hardening and tempering furnaces.

Flat Wire / Ladder Belt (Flat Flex Belt)

Built with flat wire segments connected by cross rods, also known as ladder belt.

  • Advantages: Ultra-smooth conveying surface, low friction, excellent straight-running performance.

  • Application: Thin sheets, delicate components, preheating and low-to-medium temperature continuous furnaces. Less prone to scratching finished workpieces.

Chain-Driven Mesh Belt

Mesh panel mounted on roller chains on both sides, chain-driven design instead of friction drive.

  • Advantages: Heavy load capacity, minimal elongation under sustained high heat, reliable for long furnace tunnels.

  • Application: Heavy castings, large forgings, high-load continuous carburizing and sintering furnaces.

Rod Reinforced / Heavy Duty Woven Belt

Reinforced cross rods integrated into the woven mesh structure.

  • Advantages: Anti-sagging under heavy loads, strong resistance to thermal deformation.

  • Application: High-temperature continuous furnaces with heavy parts and long heating zones.

Material Selection Guide for Heat Treatment

  • 304 / 316 stainless steel: Low & medium temperature, non-carburizing, oxidizing atmosphere

  • 310S / 314 stainless steel: 900–1100°C continuous high temperature, annealing

  • Inconel 600 / 601: 1100–1200°C extreme heat, carburizing, reducing atmosphere
